We will look into initial evolution of AI Agents in two parts (a) 1950 – 1970 (b) 1971 – 2000

The Expansion Era (1970-2000)

HEARSAY-II (1971) and PROSPECTOR (1973): These systems demonstrated AI’s ability to understand human speech and make significant discoveries in geology, respectively.

HEARSAY-II is an early example of an AI system designed for natural language processing, specifically for speech understanding. The system’s AI framework integrates knowledge from various levels of abstraction to resolve uncertainty and ambiguities that arise during the speech recognition process. The platform provides advanced search capabilities, industry news, social media insights, and AI-generated summaries and sentiment analysis of technical documents. This helps users quickly identify potential mineral resources, analyze technical reports, and make informed decisions about investments and business development in the mining sector.

Deep Blue (1997):

The chess matches between Garry Kasparov and IBM’s Deep Blue in the 1990s were landmark events in the history of artificial intelligence and chess. Kasparov, the reigning world chess champion at the time, first faced Deep Blue in 1996 and won the match with a score of 4-2, despite losing the first game to the computer—a moment that shocked many, as it was the first time a reigning world champion had lost a game to a computer under standard chess tournament conditions.

The rematch in 1997 was highly anticipated. Deep Blue had been significantly upgraded, with improvements to its processing speed and chess algorithms. The computer was capable of evaluating 200 million positions per second.

XSEL worked interactively to select saleable parts for the order, complementing XCON’s capabilities.

These systems were part of a broader “knowledge network” that Digital Equipment Corporation integrated for order processing and new product introduction cycles, which also included other systems like XFL and XCLUSTER.

LSTM (1997):
