About Eightgen

Eightgen is an AI services company that partners with founders, CIOs, and CXOs to transform ideas into working products. We help startups and enterprises ship AI automation at scale—from intelligent workflows and custom AI agents to enterprise-grade applications.

Our Values

Integrity & Ethics We conduct business with honesty and transparency. We do what's right for our clients, our team, and our partners—even when it's harder. We handle data responsibly and respect the trust placed in us.

Quality & Accountability We take ownership of our work and deliver on our commitments. We build software we're proud of, with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence. When we make mistakes, we acknowledge them and fix them.

Trust & Autonomy We hire talented people and give them the freedom to do their best work. We communicate openly, share context generously, and trust each other to make good decisions.

Inclusion & Belonging We are committed to building a diverse team where everyone feels welcome, respected, and heard. Different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences make us stronger.

We are a fully remote team that values outcomes over hours and collaboration over hierarchy.

The Role

We ship AI products, write about what we learn, and publish regularly — but we don't have the bandwidth to do content full-time. As a result, we're leaving a significant amount of reach, SEO value, and inbound pipeline on the table.

As our Content Manager, you will own Eightgen's content output end-to-end. That means writing and publishing technical blogs, managing our LinkedIn presence (both the company page and supporting founder/team profiles), distributing content on relevant forums and communities where our buyers spend time, and building the systems to do all of this consistently.

You will work directly with our engineers and founders to translate what we build into content that resonates with CTOs, CIOs, and technical decision-makers. We will give you context, access, and raw material — you turn it into compelling content.

AI-augmented workflow expected. We use AI tools extensively across our business and expect the same from our Content Manager. You should be comfortable using AI to research, draft, repurpose, and optimise content at a pace that wouldn't otherwise be possible for one person.

What You Will Own

  • Technical blog content — write and publish long-form technical posts on AI trends, engineering practices, and real-world AI delivery. We provide context and review; you write.

  • LinkedIn presence — manage the Eightgen company page and support team members in building their personal profiles as distribution channels. Consistent, high-quality posts that build credibility with our target audience.

  • Community and forum distribution — identify and engage in communities where our target buyers are active (Hacker News, Reddit, relevant Slack communities, newsletters, etc.). Share content in a way that adds value rather than spams.

  • SEO and search visibility — improve the organic search footprint of the Eightgen website and ensure our content is discoverable on both traditional search engines and AI-powered search tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.).

  • Content calendar and cadence — build and maintain a publishing schedule that balances quality with consistency. We currently publish sporadically; we need a system.

  • Repurposing and distribution — take one piece of long-form content and extend its reach: social snippets, forum posts, newsletter excerpts, and short-form video scripts.

  • YouTube / video content (bonus, not required) — if you have experience with short-form video, we'd love to grow our YouTube presence through demos, explainers, and AI commentary. This is a plus, not a requirement.

What We Are Looking For

Must Have

  • 3-5 years of content experience, ideally at a B2B technology company, agency, or consultancy

  • Demonstrated technical writing ability — you don't need to be an engineer, but you must be able to understand technical concepts and explain them clearly to a technical audience

  • LinkedIn expertise — you have grown a company page or personal profile with measurable results; you understand what performs on LinkedIn in the B2B space

  • SEO fundamentals — solid understanding of on-page and off-page SEO; experience improving organic rankings for technical content

  • Self-starter — comfortable taking a brief (or no brief at all) and producing quality content without constant hand-holding

  • AI-augmented workflow — you use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, or similar) actively in your research and writing process and can produce more output as a result

Nice to Have

  • Experience writing about AI, machine learning, or software engineering topics

  • Familiarity with AI-powered search optimisation — understanding how tools like Perplexity and ChatGPT surface content and how to be referenced by them

  • Experience managing or growing a YouTube channel with short-form video, demos, or explainers

  • Background in community management or developer relations — comfortable engaging in Hacker News, Reddit, and technical Slack communities

  • Newsletter experience — building or contributing to an email newsletter for a technical audience

  • Existing audience or personal brand in the AI/tech space

What You Will Get

  • Full ownership — this is your content programme. You decide what gets published, when, and where. No committee approvals, no brand police.

  • Direct access to the founders — you'll work directly with the Eightgen leadership team, not a marketing manager three levels removed. When you need context on what we're building, you get it straight from the source.

  • Real subject matter — we build genuinely interesting AI products. There's no shortage of things worth writing about; the gap has been time, not ideas.

  • Autonomy over strategy — you're not executing someone else's content calendar. You'll define the channels, the cadence, and the approach, and be judged on results.

  • Flexible, remote work — fully remote, async-first. We care about what you ship, not when you're online.

  • A growing platform — you'll be building something that compounds. The content you create now will be searchable, shareable, and generating inbound for months after you publish it.

  • Extension opportunity — strong performers who build real pipeline will be the first consideration for a longer-term or expanded engagement.

Engagement Details

  • Contract Duration: Initial 3-month engagement
  • Extension: Strong opportunity to extend based on output and results
  • Work Arrangement: Fully remote
  • Hours: Part-time to full-time; we care about output, not hours
  • Start Date: Immediately
