About Eightgen

Eightgen is an AI services company that partners with founders, CIOs, and CXOs to transform ideas into working products. We help startups and enterprises ship AI automation at scale—from intelligent workflows and custom AI agents to enterprise-grade applications.

Our Values

Integrity & Ethics We conduct business with honesty and transparency. We do what's right for our clients, our team, and our partners—even when it's harder. We handle data responsibly and respect the trust placed in us.

Quality & Accountability We take ownership of our work and deliver on our commitments. We build software we're proud of, with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence. When we make mistakes, we acknowledge them and fix them.

Trust & Autonomy We hire talented people and give them the freedom to do their best work. We communicate openly, share context generously, and trust each other to make good decisions.

Inclusion & Belonging We are committed to building a diverse team where everyone feels welcome, respected, and heard. Different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences make us stronger.

We are a fully remote team that values outcomes over hours and collaboration over hierarchy.

The Role

This is a paid, 2-month internship for aspiring AI engineers who want to work on real-world AI problems — not toy datasets or tutorial projects. You will be embedded in an active engineering team, contributing to agentic workflows, LLM integrations, and AI-powered product features alongside experienced engineers.

We believe the best way to learn AI engineering is by doing it. You will ship real code, participate in code reviews, and get direct mentorship from engineers who work at the frontier of applied AI.

AI-native from day one. We expect you to use AI coding assistants as part of your workflow and to develop strong instincts for when to trust AI output and when to question it.

What You Will Work On

  • Agentic workflows — help build and test multi-step AI agents using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or custom orchestration patterns

  • LLM integrations — integrate large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or open-source alternatives) into product features with proper prompt engineering and evaluation

  • Data pipelines — assist with data preparation, transformation, and validation pipelines that feed into AI models and analytics systems

  • Evaluation and testing — build evaluation harnesses to measure LLM output quality, reliability, and performance across different prompts and configurations

  • Research and prototyping — explore and prototype new AI techniques, summarise findings, and help the team make informed decisions about what to build

What We Are Looking For

Must Have

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field

  • Proficiency in Python — you should be comfortable writing clean Python and reading others' code

  • Genuine curiosity about AI — you have experimented with LLMs, built small AI projects, or followed developments in the field closely

  • Hands-on experience with AI tools — you use AI coding assistants (Codex, Claude, Copilot, or similar) regularly and think critically about their output

  • Basic collaborative coding skills — comfortable with Git, branches, and pull requests; able to work outside a notebook in a real codebase

  • Strong communication — you can explain what you are building, what you are stuck on, and what you have learned in writing

Nice to Have

  • Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar AI orchestration frameworks

  • Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, or Hugging Face APIs

  • Basic knowledge of vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, or similar)

  • Exposure to FastAPI or Flask for building simple Python APIs

  • Personal AI projects, open-source contributions, or a GitHub portfolio demonstrating initiative

  • Understanding of prompt engineering techniques — chain-of-thought, few-shot prompting, structured outputs, or tool use

What You Will Get

  • Paid internship — ₹25,000 per month stipend for the 2-month duration

  • Real-world experience — work on live client projects, not sandbox exercises

  • Direct mentorship — regular 1:1s with senior engineers and access to the full team

  • AI-forward environment — early access to new tools and techniques as they emerge

  • Remote flexibility — work from anywhere, with async-first communication

  • Potential for extension — strong performers may be considered for extended engagements or future contract roles

Engagement Details

  • Duration: 2 months (paid)
  • Work Arrangement: Fully remote (India-based candidates only)
  • Hours: Full-time preferred; part-time (4 days/week minimum) considered
  • Start Date: Immediately
